Class Description

Over the course of the class the students will be exposed to and engaged in the major events and turning points of U.S. history beginning with the birth of the nation to modern political ideology. Students will witness the growth of an emerging economic society into the world’s largest industrial power. They will trace the internal changes of society focused on ethnic composition in American society; the movement towards equal rights for racial minorities and women; and the role of the U.S. as a major world power. Throughout the course students will witness the United States become an example to other nations and that the freedoms and rights that its citizens enjoy today are not an accidents but years of internal growth and dedication that allow the United States to remain an illustration of political and social achievement.
